It’s an image burned into our minds by now. One of the Falcons’ dynamic wide receiver duo scores a touchdown and the other is there immediately for a very specific celebration. Julio Jones and Roddy White, along with many of their offensive teammates, have patterned a vertical celebration that requires both to jump, turn and bump backs. It’s within the rules of the NFL so some of these suggestions won’t be considered, but once in a while, they do something a little different. Here for you are four GIFs of Jones and White’s best TD celebrations.
1) 2013, vs. New Orleans: This celebration came after Jones’ first TD of 2013 and White and Jones weren’t yet in mid-season form. After Jones caught Matt Ryan’s four-yard pass to put the Falcons ahead of the Saints, Jones met White in the end zone, jumped and turned, but White opted for the catch-and-hug. White was slowed with an ankle injury and that probably influenced his decision to hop and not jump, but the usual jubilation when one of the two scores was still present.
2) 2012, vs. Kansas City: Remember the start of the 2012 season? Against the Chiefs, the Falcons came out on their first drive with a steady mix of run and pass, working their way methodically up the field. It was a glimpse of what was to come that season and Jones got the first score of the season and celebrated appropriately: with a jig.
3) 2012, vs. Washington: Yes, this came after one of Jones’ greatest catches and the after party is suitable for such a ridiculous catch. White and his 211 pounds leaps on top of Jones’ shoulders and No. 11 barely notices. If 211 pounds were suddenly on my shoulders, my legs would snap backwards, but not so much as a shake from Jones’ legs. It looks more like the setup for a finishing wrestling move than TD celebration and that’s the beauty of it.
4) 2012, vs. Philadelphia: The outcome of Jones’ on-field domination against the Eagles here is a joyful attack from White that is something like a cross between a headbutt and a bear hug.
