USA Today released its annual All-Joe team — an all-star team of sorts that celebrates the unsung players of each season — and linebacker Paul Worrilow has been named to the 2013 edition.
If there was ever an all-star team for Worrilow, it’s this one as he came in as an unknown, undrafted free agent from Delaware and rose to starting middle linebacker and eventually the leading tackler on the Falcons defense in his first year.
Here’s what USA Today had to say about Worrilow:
Undrafted rookie stepped in as a starter in October and ended up leading Atlanta with 127 tackles, including 54 during a three-game stretch in November. Pen him into the lineup from now on.
Worrilow joined Arizona’s Karlos Dansby, Indianapolis’ Jerrell Freeman, Cleveland’s D’Qwell Jackson and Oakland’s Nick Roach as All-Joe inside linebackers.
Earlier this month, Worrilow was named to ESPN.com’s All-Rookie team.
