Wide receiver Roddy White has been hampered by an ankle injury through five weeks of the regular season. While playing through the pain, White suffered a second injury in the loss to the Jets.
White left Monday’s game with a hamstring injury and did not return. Head coach Mike Smith sounded hopeful Wednesday that White wouldn’t miss time.
“We’re going to go day-by-day with Roddy in terms of his hamstring,” Smith said. “He wasn’t able to return to the game, as we all know, and I would never put anything against Roddy in terms of his ability to recover.”
White was not on the practice field Wednesday for the Falcons’ first bye week session and Smith said White will not be at practice for the next session Thursday morning.
Through five games, White has only caught 14 passes for 129 yards and no touchdowns. This time last year, White had 31 receptions for 481 yards and three touchdowns.
